I thought this short post by Leanne Campbell was very sobering in a comparison of raising beef and growing vegetables.

Grass-Fed Beef: Is it Really a Sustainable Alternative?

The math says its not.

This comes back to a point I've read, that sustainability is often a luxury of the well off. People in poverty can not afford to buy green products as they are marketed now.

But can we here teach people how to grow their own and live better with less money and stuff?
